Saint Joseph, a man of faith and trust

Saint Joseph holds a special place in the Christian tradition. As the spouse of the Virgin Mary and the adoptive father of Jesus, he is portrayed in the Gospels as a righteous and humble man, deeply faithful to God.

Joseph accepts the mission entrusted to him with confidence. He protects Mary and the Child Jesus—most notably when he must flee to Egypt to keep them safe. Through his work as a carpenter and his quiet life in Nazareth, he also bears witness to the dignity of labor and the value of simple things.

Saint Joseph is often depicted holding Jesus in his arms, with a lily in his hand—a symbol of purity and faithfulness. He is especially invoked as a protector of families, workers, and the Church.

His life serves as a reminder that faith is expressed not only through grand words, but also through service, responsibility, courage, and trust in God. In silence, Joseph chose to love, to protect, and to act with faithfulness.
